Arrange an AMA on r/ukpolitics
The moderators of r/ukpolitics host AMAs (“Ask Me Anything”) and Q&As with people who work in and around UK politics. That includes MPs, peers, councillors and candidates, as well as journalists, authors, academics and campaigners.
If you’d like to take questions from the community, or you’re arranging one on someone’s behalf, send us the form below and a moderator will get back to you.
How it works
- Send us a request. Tell us who you are, what you’d like to talk about, and roughly when.
- We reply by email to agree a date, time and format.
- We confirm who you are. We’ll usually ask for a post from an official social media account or an email from an official address. This protects you and the community from impersonation.
- We announce it in the subreddit ahead of time so people can get questions ready.
- On the day, you answer questions from your Reddit account. If you don’t have one, we can help you set one up.
Formats
- Live AMA: you answer questions in the thread for an agreed period, usually an hour or two.
- Questions in advance: we collect questions beforehand, and you answer the ones you choose at a time that suits you.
Good to know
- Please give us as much notice as you can, ideally at least two weeks.
- The thread is moderated under the subreddit’s normal rules. We remove abuse, but we don’t filter out tough questions.
- Hosting an AMA isn’t an endorsement by the moderators of you or your views.
- We’re volunteers and aren’t affiliated with Reddit, Inc.
